Lifelong Love of Gems and Jewels
Mirren & Monroe was officially established in the winter of 2024, but it had been a long time coming for me.
As a child, my mum had a market stall in Bradford and we would spend every freezing cold Sunday morning scouring car boot sales for second hand treasures. It didn't take long before I was saving every penny of my spending money for those Sundays, buying costume jewellery.
My mum let me have a small section of her market stall and I would use to sell the jewellery I had found. I loved it. And ever since, the second hand jewellery bug has been with me.
As an adult, I entered the world of auction houses, and it was here whilst working in the jewellery departments, that I learnt about fine jewellery, building my knowledge and experience with gemstones, precious metals and antiques, until I found the confidence to make the leap and establish Mirren & Monroe.
Mirren is my middle name, from Scotland originally. Monroe, after the wonder that was Marilyn, is a name for me that represents the feeling of beauty and glamour that vintage jewellery gives to me.
